Essex Community Players is seeking directors and actors for V-Day, a one weekend benefit performance of The Vagina Monologues to be held in February 9th and 10th, 2018 in Essex, Vermont. We will be donating 100% of the proceeds to charities supporting women – 90% of our proceeds will go to Planned Parenthood and 10% to the V-Day Spotlight Campaign: The Resistance.
We are seeking directors and actors who identify as female, genderqueer, or non-binary to join us in creating this event. Auditions will be held on Monday, January 8th and Tuesday, January 9th at Memorial Hall in Essex, Vermont.
Director candidates should arrive at 6pm on either night to meet with the artistic director, Nan Murat and producer, Becky Millard. If you have a theatre resume, please bring a copy with you (this is not required). If you are also interested in auditioning to be an actor in the production, please plan to stay for the actor auditions which will begin at 7pm both nights (see full details below).
Actors should arrive at 7pm on either night and prepare to perform a monologue from any other show (please do not prepare a monologue from The Vagina Monologues). Monologues should be approximately 3 minutes in length, and do not need to be memorized. If you have a theatre resume, please bring a copy with you (this is not required).
Anyone who is interested in getting involved in the production – including those who identify as male – are very welcome to email our team at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you’re interested in anything from set, to lighting, to front of house, we can find a place for you on our team.
